y works are inspired by the concept of collaboration and the team spirit that bees so naturally demonstrate as they build their beehives. In these works I have used various materials, each of which assumes a very specific role in the work. The starting point (for this series) was my preoccupation with how we engage with different materials.
In order to build these works I spent time studying beehives and observing my own reactions to them. The form and the sense of a deeply holistic internal spirit, which gives rise to such incredible architecture, are some of the influences I wanted to express.
It is a space to pause and to question ourselves about our own existence.
Constantly shifting space, made up of different layers, raises the issues of life and its surroundings . It has no visible end and carries us away on a long journey. It remains, however a negotiated space, lying between natural instinct and a constructed thought process.
